My Top 5

I wanted to share my favorite Fall 2011 collections with you and while I have to admit there were designers who let me down this season, I was still able to easily pick out 5 that I loved..

Counting down from #5.....

5. Alexander McQueen

Sarah Burton proved she can be the designer to keep the legacy of the Alexander McQueen line going for years to come.

4. Vivienne Westwood

After a slew of odd let downs, Vivienne saved us all with her wild ways. She stayed true to her wacky-haired self while still giving us something fresh and fab.

 3. Galliano

Scandalous, I know.. but who can deny that John Galliano is a genius even if he doesn't think before he speaks?

2. Chanel

Ah Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld...what a collection this was. Grunge with tweed? LOVED it.

1. Erin Fetherston

And my top pick for Fall 2011 Collections..... Erin Fetherston! You may be wondering why I choose little ol' Erin as the Queen of the season.. it's plain and simple. Erin stayed true to herself and created perfect pieces which weren't ruined by over-styling or some confusing concept. Her collection was truly ready-to-wear and the best part.. her pieces are much more affordable than her past collections. Score.

What are your top 5??

Valentine

I have been lusting over this red dress by Erdem ever since it hit the runway months ago..
then I saw it again in Feb 2011 issue of Harper's Bazaar. I know there are those out there that are over the doll look that has been done by so many designers in the past few years. I have to say though that I'm all for it. It's girly and playful and fun... I used to be obsessed with Erin Fetherston's collections because she did this look so well. This red, lacey dress is perfection..don't ask me where I'd wear it. Does it really matter?? I think I'd hang it on my wall like a great piece of art.

Michelle Williams wore it back in November at the London premiere of her movie Blue Valentine..but I have yet to see it done justice.

If only I had a red carpet event to go to..
Did I mention there isn't a color this dress wouldn't look good in??

The entire spring line by Erdem was soft, feminine and romantic.

Here's another one of my favorites later worn by Kate Bosworth..

Go Nude

Go nude for spring! Don't worry about the color washing you out, just make sure to try a variety of hues. Try whiter nudes or some with pink tones.
When you find what accentuates your skin tone best, show it off! Get rid of the heavy coats and scarfs that cover you up! They'll be back before you know it.
